The enemy
Your AI assistant is being nice to you.
You pasted your landing page into a chatbot and asked what it thought. It said the positioning was strong and the design was clean. It never opened your app, never touched your signup form, and was never going to tell you the third field is where people quit.
Asking a chatbot
- Reads the copy you paste, never opens your app
- Agrees with whatever you imply you want to hear
- One voice, one opinion, no disagreement
- No screenshots, no evidence, nothing to act on
- Cannot tell you where anyone gave up, because nobody tried
An IndieCrush panel
- Signs up and walks your real flow in a real browser
- 10 personas who want different things and disagree
- A screenshot of every step, including the one they quit on
- Findings ranked critical, major, minor, each with a fix
- No incentive whatsoever to be nice to you
Not real users. Better than no users, cheaper than five UserTesting sessions, harsher than your friends.
The evidence
Not opinions. The exact moment they hesitated.
Every finding is anchored to a screenshot and a quote from the AI user who hit it: then turned into a fix you can ship.

The Careful Evaluator
“No pricing or terms information is shown on this signup screen, but the page identifies itself as a demo app so I'll continue.”
Zero value proposition — 'a tiny demo app' is the entire product pitch
The fix
Replace the subtitle with a one-sentence benefit statement (e.g. 'IndieCrush — the fastest way to [core outcome] for [target user]'). Remove all references to 'demo app' from production-facing copy immediately.

Three agents sign up and walk your flow while seven more judge positioning, pricing and trust. Nobody is grading on a curve.
Ten personas, including a price-sensitive student and a skeptical SaaS buyer, answer whether anyone would pay before real users see it.

The step they quit on, why, and a ranked fix list. Ship a fix, rerun free for 30 days, watch the score move.
Community testers become real first users and every public report brings visibility. The panel itself never sells for you.
All panel feedback is generated by AI personas and clearly labeled as simulated.

FAQ
Questions, answered
- How is this different from asking ChatGPT?
- A chatbot reads the copy you paste it and tells you the positioning is strong. It never opens your app, never fills in your signup form, and has every incentive to agree with you. A panel opens your app in a real browser, signs up, attempts your core flow, and comes back with the step where it broke and a screenshot of it. Ten personas who want different things, so they argue with each other instead of flattering you.
- Is this real user testing?
- No, and we never pretend otherwise. Every persona is AI and is labeled simulated everywhere it appears. What you get is the part real user testing gives you that a chatbot cannot: someone who is not you, opening your app cold, failing at it, and leaving a screenshot of the moment they gave up. Not real users. Better than no users, cheaper than five UserTesting sessions, harsher than your friends. When you want actual humans, that is what Community Testing (free, credit-based) and the Pro Review ($99, hands-on by Alex) are for.
- What do I get in the report?
- A panel score, a screenshot of every step each AI user took, the exact step they abandoned and the reason they gave, and a fix list ranked critical, major or minor. Seven more personas cover positioning, pricing and trust. A Free Roast is the short version: the score, the issues three cold visitors hit, and a scorecard you can share.
- What if the agents get blocked anyway?
- If none of the three AI users can even start your flow, the run is marked blocked and never costs you a run: the slot goes straight back on your pass, and if it was the first run on that pass we refund the purchase automatically. If at least one gets through, the run stands, and the blockers they hit are themselves findings.
Stop asking a chatbot if your app is good
Paste your URL. Three users who owe you nothing will tell you what they think, in about 90 seconds.
